I booked the hotel, and then looked how to get to it. It’s VERY central, there’s lots of narrow, one-way roads, and I’m taking the Ferrari, which has no sat-nav. So I’ll be relying on the wife’s instructions, should be interesting..

Bruges
I’ve booked a mini-break with the missus for my birthday. We are staying in Bruges. Can you kind folk recommend any restaurants, bars, sights etc?

Yeah - just eat at the hotel, drink at the hotel, and look at hotel views. Done.
Re: Bruges
I Hope you've booked The Dukes palace? Tremendous hotel. Has underground secure parking too & the breakfast is amazing.
My favourite bars were as follows:
4: Le Trappiste
3: Staminee De Garre
2: Café Vlissinghe
1: 't Brugs Beertje
Try the ribs in Bones restaurant too (if you like ribs that is).
The Flemish stew in Brasserie Mozarthuys is also delicious. It's a cute place, but not posh.

Re: Bruges
McSwede, I advised you to try the hotel bar. What did you do again?
Thanks Gwaredd. Yes, booked a Junior Suite at the Duke’s Palace. Many thanks for your advice. Much appreciated.

If it is Belgium there is a fair chance there will be a small boy piddling in statue form!

Re: Bruges
There's a couple of nice fondue restaurants in Bruges I've been too. Not that that's helpful, but if you ask around they might know where it is. It was a few years back that I went!

That. Can't beat Cambrinus either. And the Duvelorium overlooking the main square is a place where it's very easy to get utterly wrecked whilst enjoying the view.Gwaredd wrote: Thu Sep 27, 2018 5:21 pm I Hope you've booked The Dukes palace? There are a ton of good places to eat there. I think there are 15 retaurants with stars, and a host of bib gourmands as well.

Traveling? Me?
Oh - I meant using the internet to learn things for himself, not using the time of others because he can't be arsed. He's a fucking pilot for Christ's sake!!
