Restomod Bertone Runabout
Restomod Bertone Runabout
Drivetrain feels familiar.
Do they count as pop-ups? Like a sniper peeping over the brow of a hill.....

Re: Restomod Bertone Runabout
Hmmmm - despite the claim that this isn't a new body on an existing car..... it appears to have the exposed shifter mech from a late V6 Exige, Exige stalks, and a very similar set of rotary controls for ze heatings......

Exige

edit: and I think they are Exige exterior mirrors too? And seats (with modified harness apertures).

Re: Restomod Bertone Runabout
That’s a v6 exige with a body swap, probably the left over radfords after theirs didn’t work

i don’t get it. it’s not very pretty and doesn’t seem to have any real benefit over an Exige.

You're missing the key point. It'll have a completely ridiculous price combined with some faff about being inspired by the sound of thrushes chatting and the feel of vintage screws.Rich B wrote: Tue Jan 27, 2026 6:49 pm i don’t get it. it’s not very pretty and doesn’t seem to have any real benefit over an Exige.

i think it would be better if they just stuck to the barchetta version - it’s a very limited daft thing that will never be driven, so you might as well go the whole way and have it resembling the original.

That Peruvian windscreen and the frame and the roof all look carryover S3 too. I'm not sure the newer Hennesseys aren't still guilty of that too.
Re: Restomod Bertone Runabout
I think it looks pretty cool, like a cop car in a 1980s video game.
The price though, hmm, ok.

Like a video game car - that's fair, it looks like a generic sports car from GTA. Not a patch on the original.V8Granite wrote: Thu Jan 29, 2026 10:28 am I think it looks pretty cool, like a cop car in a 1980s video game.
