I sent them 230. Usually take around 5-600. Double tap on each one incase the focus is off or flash doesn’t fire.

I’m old enough to remember when the 996 was an abomination and the Worst. Thing. Ever. and not a real Porsche. How times change !

I was thinking the same as @Sundayjumper , when did the 996 stop being the ginger fat kid with the wrong cooling?

Exactly, and red ones were lowest of the low IIRC

I always thought the red 997 GT3 was the best looking.. Jethro’s 996.3 has made me reassess the 996 body and it looks much better with clear lights

What's he want for it do you know? Needs tyres and a wheel refurb but it's a nice looking thing that isn't trying to look like a GT3 like so many of them with aerokits.
You settle up, I'll go get the Jag.

It’s an advert to sell it, they’re not going to tell you it’s the shit one no one wants 😄

I’ve always liked 996s, especially with the aero kit.

But then I like the underdog, or unpopular cars.

I like 996.2's but I just can't fall in love with the front of any 996.1

If the 996 had the regular round 911 headlights they’d be worth double what they are now. It’s like the wanky BMW beaver grill of its time.
How about not having a sig at all?

Even looking past the dodgy headlight covers, they have an odd dodgy kit car look with round headlights somehow

Eeew

It's like a visually similar but legally distinct version of the 911 - or a 2010s chinese electric car, back when they were straight up, shamelessly, ripping off existing designs.

They still are, I posted some ora ones in the ev thread that are a rip off from a Panamera and an unmistakable beetle rip off

Those covers are terrible. They fixed the problem with the 997. You can’t just stick a cover on the lights which are integrated with the bonnet and bumper. Needs straight bonnet lines and only the round bit of the headlight cutting into the bumper.

Yeah, I saw that, although those seem to be the exception these days, whereas 10 years ago it was the rule to near directly rip a western design.

I don’t hate the front end, it suits the smooth pebble shape and the whole thing looks dainty and delicate compared to what the 911 has become. I have fond memories of watching 996 rsrs in the dark / mist / rain with those extra front lights actually being useful.

If anything it’s the too big rear lights which annoy more, losing the iconic full width strip of the previous versions. I think that’s why grey / silver / red has always suited the 996, colours which blend in and hide some of the depth of the rear lights.
