Begging Post (for sponsorship)

Post by Gavin »

Hi, due to turning 50 this year I was looking for something fun to do and came across Rainbow Trust's sponsored Ultra triple thingy.

It is suitably taxing for someoene of my levels of fitness and my mate and I are raising money for the Rainbow Trust.

They do good stuff for terminally ill and seriously ill kids, so one of teh good ones.

I know times ar ehard, but if anyone fancies bunging a pound or two, that would be much appreciated.

I was about to suggest that the Venn diagram overlap between your version of fun and mine was nil, but reading the blurb it sounds quite fun.

Go like the clappers and don't let the younger one get away with taking the p.

Well, we did it! Came 3rd (1st team were on ebikes though) I am a little stiff today but was a great day. I did not have my reading glasses on, which is why it says surfing. We were on a surf canoe double thingy. Never been on one but didn't capsize, thank goodness.

I know a couple of you sponsored me, but if any of you enjoy seeing my happy face half way down Helvellyn, and are inspired to bung a few quid at a bloody god cause, it would be very much appreciated.

A good way to mark my (nearly) 50 years on earth.

I had forgotten the stipulation if I'm honest. We were in the lead til almost the end but my legs were just empty that last uphill mile was just not pleasant!
