They changed to a paper nothingness this year.. zero plastic, so obviously environmentally friendly, but it reply feels like.. nothing.. a complete lack of connection

nah, i like that. i stuck a safety pin to the back of it and it was nice and flat on my jacket (probably should have come with the pin tbf, but id rather the money went towards the actual cause.)
i went along to a ceremony in Datchet today, my boy is in the sea scouts (well, he’s 7, so sea beavers - referred to as “wet beavers” in our family), and they were part of the procession. it was really good - quite a thing when they read out all the names from the village who didn’t come back.

I've seen these a few times and couldn't quite work out how they were supposed to attach or last beyond the first day. I just pick up a new pin badge each year and pop some money in the tin.

Goes some way to countering the impact of the fecking billions of bit plastic poppies that get zip-tied to the lamp posts round where we live. Boils my piss that one.
