End of the summer
End of the summer
Picking up my MX5 today and obviously it’s a bit wet and grey. So I think I’ve jinxed the summer weather. Sorry folks

Once it’s run in, we need a e-start vid. This is a dying tradition

What are you, a sissy? True evotistas are driving with top down in drizzle that is at least moderate to severe, sliding around the roundabouts of the A34 with great abandon.
Seriously though, enjoy it in the long evenings!

Hoping to stick a couple of hundred miles on it today heading back through Wales. But I’ve never done an e-start, let alone a video of one, so sorry Mik

Enjoy the drive home and the top-down drives for the rest of summer, some of Autumn and then those crisp winter mornings.
Cheers,
Mike.

Just passed Runcorn on the train. Sun is out though it’s still pretty cloudy. Hoping I can own and drive it without ever putting the roof up

Re: End of the summer
Bloody hell Jobbo thanks a lot, i'm off to the seaside tomorrow and you've just gone and ruined the weather. Going to Brighton so i'll probably get bummed by a man in a dress as well.
Joking aside, enjoy the car

The music at The Mesmerist was particularly good if you like late 90s early noughties stuff. Very good superstar DJ.dan wrote: Wed Jul 03, 2024 11:46 am Bloody hell Jobbo thanks a lot, i'm off to the seaside tomorrow and you've just gone and ruined the weather. Weather is variable so at least you'll get to make sure the roof mechanism works properly.
Re: End of the summer
The roof goes down and doesn’t come back up. Well, as far as I’m concerned - it works fine but I only drove it a couple of miles with the roof up today. Did 186 miles through the Mersey tunnel, along the top of the Wirral then into Chester and on to Wales via the Horseshoe Pass. Loving it.
More photos and more waffle tomorrow.

I'm no big mx5 fan, but that's a good colour combo. Approved!
Re: End of the summer
It’s definitely not a car to impress people. Despite which I got a similar ‘love your car’ from some school kids in Wales as I did over 20 years ago with my Elise. Hilarious but definitely appreciated.

Did you pick it up early or something? They've not put the topcoat on.Jobbo wrote: Wed Jul 03, 2024 7:23 pm The roof goes down and doesn’t come back up.
