FFS!
FFS!
Stayed at the Balathie House Hotel last night, just North of Perth so I could have an early morning blast up North. Left hotel at 6.30am so I could have a relatively traffic free run.
Had a super run up the old military road (A93) including a seeing a fast moving Mudge type Exige rattling past in the opposite direction (closing speed of Grande Leptons) on the fast flowing valley floor section before Braemar. A little later I arrived at the B976 turn off and the bloody road was closed. Proper gutted!! I carried on to pick up the next turn off and that was shut too. The whole road section of the B976/A939 to where it meets the A944 was shut.
Spoiled my wonderful morning. It had been awesome up to that point.

Re: FFS!
That's bloody annoying.
Gives you the excuse to return there though!

Oui, je suis un motard.
Re: FFS!
I've only got up the A93 to Braemar*, so lots still for me to do, even before I think about B or unclassified roads. That pic is a constant source of inspiration, and an occasional source of frustration.
*I did the round trip in one go via an indirect route from south east England. If I'd had an inkling I'd end doing that sort of thing I'd've thought about an overnight stop so I could continue further north the next day. It means I'll have to have another go of course, but it'd happen sooner if I could get a ferry from Dover up the east coast to avoid the middle few hundred miles of drudgery.

Here's the clickable, zoomable original;

Here's the website it's from;
https://www.sabre-roads.org.uk/
That site is very helpful when, say, looking for the original route of the A1 to make a pleasure trip from southern England to Scotland
more interesting than just sitting on the current route with cruise on for several hours.
