Current:
E46 330ci convertible. It's getting too 'projecty' for my liking and I have someone lined up to take it off my hands.

Replacement:
Newer, bit smaller, lighter, five door hatch so more practical, more economical, nice auto box on it, german.

Should be collecting it this weekend if all goes to plan.

Yeah, Zonda offered to let me have a sniff aboot his one, see if I fit in it, etc. So popped up to the Proper North, went for a drive out with him behind the wheel driving at least part of the door handles off it in Sports+ which was...eye opening a bit organ-rearranging, involving a lot of giggling, and I was kinda unexpectedly offered to drive it back - so I pootled it into town in Comfort mode (I'm not hammering a +300bhp car I've never driven, in the pissing rain...) and was quite impressed with the whole package.

Particularly the ZF 8-speed box, it was very smooth when I wanted it to be, seemed to have a nicely balanced 'bite' point, nicely tuned with the engines torque band etc - just all hangs together nicely and was not even remotely odd or weird to drive - which was my main concern, that I'd just not like it. I was being pretty ginger with it given it was my first time ever driving an auto and I was barely using 1/3rd throttle and had no idea whether it'd need stabbing or not - but no, not a single slip, stall or other oddness. Apart from stopping in his drive and confusing park/handbrake etc, but I didn't hit anything so we don't talk about that

So rather than deal with ragged, fucked, "don't know if it's been decatted" sort of cars from Bradford might as well save a lot of that bollocks and take Zondas one off his hands.

Suffice to say I have no plans to turn off the traction control and then do 120+ mph in standing water for views.

Semi-related to your exciting adventures, insurance is likely to be a bit of a twat - comparison sites talking double what I currently pay - but I'm hoping SafelyInsured/formerly Sky Insurance, former beer token supplier for Alex88 of this place, will be able to make me a reasonable offer given they specialise in oddities (classics, modifed, young, etc)
