Similar concept to the Renault5 Turbo 2 - mid engine RWD version of shopping car. In this case using the Lotus Sunbeam engine. Killed off before it raced by the emergence (and dominance) of the Quattro.

That looks more like a Horizon than an Alpine. Will have to read about it.

That looks great, shame it never went anywhere. Would've been interesting to see where they went with engine development as they got really into turbocharging in the US. IIRC Shelby used a Lotus developed 16v head on their branded Dodge Omni Turbo.
