Diesel class actions

Post by Gavster »

Has anyone else signed up to one? There seem to be a lot of firms signing people up. I saw one and added the details of my 4 series, just in case.

I signed up to the Merc one a while ago - twice, once for my C-class and once for my CLS. Don't expect to get anything from it to be honest.

There has not been one for the Audi V6 diesels, which seems amazing when it's from exactly the era of the 4-cyl diesel cheats. My first Allroad from 2016 was just before the scandal broke, the second from the very end of 2017 had the same engine/same power but was definitely less willing. I'm sure it had replacement software.

That's weird Jobbo, surely a VAG V6 would be right in the middle of it all!

I don't expect much either, and it's for a car that I only had s/h for 1 year. However, it took around 60 seconds to sign up, so why not.

I am fairly sure the Porsche version of exactly the same V6 diesel was indeed embroiled in it. I guess the people pursuing this have spent so much time chasing the cheats in the 4-cyl diesels, they've not bothered to look so hard at the smaller number of V6 ones. But I'm absolutely certain there was a change to the software between 2016 and 2018 models.

There was a change as it used more fuel for a more complete burn, this was a burn late in the combustion cycle though so didn’t increase performance. It’s a bit like wastefullu burning one last log on a log burner flat out just to clean the glass.
