Any experience of these fitness scanners, fe a scanner type machines ?
I used a Evolt 360 at a gym I use at work to track my progress but am curious as to how accurate they actually are ?

Sorry Dave I've zero idea about those machines, never even used one. What are you measuring with them?
I've basically been a lithe racing snake for nearly 15 years since I lost a lot of timber, my whole body composition is very stable, maybe add a few pounds over winter, then lose them again in the spring.

It uses metal plates and handles and 30 seconds of voodoo. I can’t see how they can be accurate but otherwise have no idea at all about them.
I can only find stuff from them which is obviously a bit biased.

I’ve used Boditrax in gyms in the past. No idea how accurate they are but I know the NHS also use them. They’re in David Lloyd gyms and I think some others.

So a 6 week change resulted in these figures….

So dropped 4kg of pure pointless fat and kept my lean muscle mass, perfect. It also meant that I was 30% fat
. Aiming for 20% fat as it sits well on me, when I got down to 12 a long time ago I looked odd.
Hopefully it’s accurate as I’ll have use of one till about Feb time.

Nice work, I wonder how these things operate? Since doing my last triathlon my weight has been stable, but my body composition has definitely changed due to less training. Would be cool to find out.

They work on bio-impedance.

They're not inaccurate but we use MRI etc for research. Probably it is good at tracking change over time, but it will be affected by things like your hydration status.
