Oooh! I might miss out the G30 generation 5-series and jump straight to this…

About bloody time!

I hope it looks (relatively) incognito like the current M5 Comp, and doesn’t go down the IN YOUR FACE RS6 Avant route.

I’ll reserve judgement until I’ve seen how horrible they make it look.

It sounds fine, but BMW's design department seem to be occupied by RNIB residents on day release at the mo, so the chance for this being a visual mess is very high IMO.

I saw one of those last week and the styling makes it look even bigger than its actual size which is already massive.

I wonder how much this is going to cost? Definitely don't want or need one.

Definitely don't need one....

I wonder how much more than two tonnes it'll weigh in at?

I still find myself thinking back to the LHD E39 M5 Touring that used to live near me a few years ago

Such a lovely thing

I suspect I would take the Alpina version as it is more my cup of tea, especially now!

I've not driven an M5 in a long time - I know Chris Harris loves his CS -I wonder how its character is compared to the M3 Touring for example? More of a relaxed cruiser? Albeit one with 700-odd bhp?

* cough * I might have placed a build slot deposit on one of these.

@DaveE Years ago someone living locally had an E39 540 sport (I think?) with M5 bits on and it looked the absolute nuts. Was Daytona purple and just had such presence. There's a guy on Pistonheads who builds E39 M5 Wagons and his build threads are always a great read.
