Important food news

Post by Gavster »

Walkers are releasing two new limited edition Sensations flavours 'King Prawn Cocktail' and 'Regal Lamb & Mint' for the coronation. Assuming there's quite a few crisp eaters on here so thought it's important you knew before everyone else

"Crisp Eater" sounds like it could be a slur delivered on a weightwatchers/dieting forum. :?

Like "Cake Eater" used as an insult in Mighty Ducks.

Hopefully another manufacturer will do some republican themed flavours. Regicider vinegar & Sea Salt or similar.

Lamb and mint isn’t anything new, they used to do that years ago. Hopefully the king prawn cocktail won’t taste like the new walkers max spicy prawn cocktail ones because they’re minging

That's very good :D

I know it's boringly obvious, but I'd buy Coronation Chicken flavour crisps.

I wasn't particularly fussed about the coronation, but this is great news!

Coronation chicken really is an elite flavour, but a big business would never make it a flavour because colonialism and they'd immediately get cancelled.

New flavours:

Sausage sarnie with Heinz tomato ketchup
Cheese toastie with Heinz baked beans
Roast chicken with Heinz mayo

Didn’t buy any as I was too outraged by the whole impropriety of it all!
Cheers,

Ian

I noticed these last week and just assumed because they were up here they’d been out for ages down in civilisation, but I guess not. I also didn’t try them.

This on the other hand… 👌🏻

The beans and cheese toasty taste exactly like it says. They’re actually pretty nice

The MM mayo made me chuckle when I saw it a couple of weeks, unlike other H'een stuff filling up shelves a month in advance.

Slightly in a different price bracket but I've now become ensnared by the Torres crisps which are conveniently located near the till at my local Majestic :?

They're the only crisps I've ever eaten where the flavours actually resemble what they're named after. First try of the fried egg flavour at the weekend which was pretty epic.

We love the fried egg ones. My son in particular loves a fried egg sarnie, so if you let him anywhere near the crisps they're gone in no time.

Bretts are another favourite of ours.

When I come to think of it, Walker's are fairly disappointing these days. Gone are some of the great flavours (Worcestershire Sauce, Beef & onion, Pickled Onion) and others are fairly hard to find. There are so many better alternatives. Piper's Longhorn Beef being one of mine.

I’ve been enjoying Taylor’s (nee Mackies) crinkle cut ready salted. Great texture.

Is Worcester Sauce fully gone now? It left the supermarket shelves a long long time ago, but after that you used to be able to pick it up in cornershops for ages. Haven't seen it for a long time now though. Was always my absolute fave.
