We offered a loan of the mini for a few days until the Peugeot main dealer could look at it...OBVIOUSLY that plan all went to tits.

Original dealer it was booked to into couldn't look at it until the end of Feb so she booked recovery at her expense to have it towed to the dealer. When the flatbed arrived they informed the driver that they had lost the franchise and were not doing ANY Peugeot work. Recovery then delivered the still fucked car back to her house. She then went back to Arnold Clark as she had bought it from one of their used / nearly new places. They however couldn't look at it until the end of march.
That sounded shit! My friend works for Macklin Motors so i looked up and they have a Peugeot dealer. She is head of admin for them and floats round various depots so i gave her a call. By chance she was in the Peugeot dealer on that day so explained the situation and she said she'd speak to their service team. Called back to say get the car delivered as soon as you can and we will look at it. Car got there on the 8th March and they were brilliant. Arranged an out of warranty claim with Peugeot - this wet belt is a common issue so if you go through the correct channels there is an extended warranty on the issue. Peugeot agreed to cover the cost of a full engine replacement which was an absolute result.
However due to it being a last min booking they didn't get a courtesy car! So the borrow the mini for a few days turned in to about 6 week. They've now put more miles on it than we have since buying it! We had only been using it as a backup car if one of us was using the X5.
