Edited because I had to mention Steve Berry's disturbing moustache.

I just came on to link to that.

I love this line in the auction listing.
The Pollitt wrote:This second-generation body is longer than the first, and as such, boasts impressive rear load space in which you could fit all kinds of things, like a small aircraft, or a limousine, or Hull.
I'd have found some way to get Steve to say Ducati, though.

Hope that goes to someone who continues in the right spirit and keeps it running, such an iconic car!

Bidding starts in a couple of hours…..

So what do we think it’ll reach?

On the basis that it is of interest only to people as eccentric as John Dodds, and not the majority of the hoi -polloi I’m going to suggest it’ll make £87k in a battle-of-the-geeks. :ugeek:

If people like Jay Leno get involved it’s likely to go higher…

PLACE YOUR BETS HERE

Closest bet wins a signed photo of beany, with a Superdrug lipstick imprint from his own fair lips. Furthest away bet wins two of these.

£25k.

I'll stick with that but since noticed the engines alone seem to be worth more lol

All the talk of how powerful it is and how fast it is, but no footage of it anywhere doing any more than 20mph chugging along billowing smoke.

That depends on whether it is a Merlin or a Meteor, there's been some debate about that.

Did look better with the original RR Grille.

(note: better. Not good).

75K by someone who has got the online auction fever and can't help themselves but keep bidding as they don't think its real money.

You wouldn't describe it as blistering.....

Max rpm is somewhere around 2600rpm. They aren't musical without the 'charger of the Merlin engine providing some treble.

Thanks for the admin!

I'll be honest, I didn't bother reading your post properly and got caught up in the auction excitement.

Much like I did at Christmas when I found myself slightly out of sorts on a cocktail of strong painkillers and whisky sours which lead me to an online bidding war with unknown persons for a vintage stuffed monkey.

I will not be taking any further questions.
