Asking for a friend. Stopped for doing allegedly >100 mph. Has had the NIP. Any idea best course?

Lawyer up, to mitigate the penalty. Was the alleged offence in Scotland or England? If in England, this chap is well regarded on PH, posts there as AGTlaw. I’d use him, even if his posts can be direct on a forum - he knows what he’s talking about.

Wales is the same as England for legals, so I’d get straight on to Andrew Thompson who I linked. Before returning the NIP just in case there’s a procedural loophole.

My experience says be honest, keep to the facts and don’t go woe is me on them.

AGTLaw is very up to date on things and is very well regarded.

He is definitely getting banned though, how long though is what they will be arguing.

Anything clever, or just "sorry m'lud, got a bit carried away, held my hands up to the arresting officer, realise the danger I posed, won't do it again"?

I presume getting 3pts and only a moderately chunky fine for being pulled in person at >100mph requires a bit more than just being contrite at the side of the road, and admitting it in court, after all!

Very good result. Based on legal advice? Be good to know if AGTlaw is worth recommending.

He contacted him but he never got back to him.

I believe his defence went along the lines of what beany said. Hands up sorry governer. Wasn’t a dick to the roadside officers. Explained he realised he had made a mistake, had learned from it and changed behaviours. Also I think he explained he needed licence for his job and regretted his actions.

Three points and a biggish fine is a great result.

When I was pulled (93 in a 70, 3 points and £100, happy with that  ) the copper told me 96 and over is an automatic court date, so a minimum six points plus a fine.

Depends on where you live. There are forces that have discretionary powers above 100, I know from first hand experience...

I got done in Northamptonshire on the M1 years ago (early 2000's). I was doing 110 and I thought I was totally screwed. I held my hands up and said I had no excuse. They told me that ordinarily I'd be looking at a ban, a court appearance and a four figure fine, but they were allowed to use their disgresion and as my lane discipline and driving were good they were prepared to offer me 95mph and 3 points which a gladly accepted!
If you get all wobbly-lipped about the opinion of Internet strangers, maybe it's time to take a bath with the toaster as you'll never amount to sh1t anyway.
