Anyone had one? Are the rear seats remotely useable?

Old boss had a TTS. I've asked the question.

I keep looking at them and each time I see the rear ‘seats’ I think, why did they bother? I think it’s also very telling that each one you see has big indentation in the rear back rest showing that they’ve spent a long time folded flat, presumably to give more boot space.

Paraphrasing for comedic effect: "suitable for contortionists, children, and vertically challenged adults lacking limbs".

Edit: she recommends an RX-8 as the best option for four usable seats. Dump the rotary for an SBC and you've got something quite fast.

She is in Edinburgh, I have sent her a pic, price included, told her how awesome it is, mentioned that insurance is a pittance (220 fully comp) and she is rudely not expressing an opinion, it is up at £7999 but can make offer. She did say a £7k Cooper S seemed expensive but surely that is totally different.....

The mk1 TT comfortably has a booster seat and full seat in for an 8 and 6 year old. The 8 year old is around 130cm.

Also when the back seats are folded the space in the boot is huge, a surprisingly practical car.

If you aren’t after a lot of performance, the mk2 has much better engines, then the MK1 makes the MK2 feel a bit of a pudding. The MK1 does need the 18s though and a proper geometry doing.

Cheers @V8Granite went and had a nose at the local car yesterday. Was in good nick mechanically, tiny bit of surface rust inside the boot lid where there were some rubber stoppers riveted in but easy fix. One wheel had slight scuffing.

Has up to date Nav disk, 19s (would happily swap for 18s at some point for roads round here, DSG recently serviced, haldex recently serviced, other than slight wear on the seat base bolster it is remarkably tidy for a 2009 car.

My son does fit behind me so wife and daughter will fit one behind the other but I have pointed out that 4 up we always take the big car so it would mean she would take that more often for bussing kids and their pals but she seems keen ( or possibly resigned as she can tell I will just cry lots of sad tears when she looked at a Cactus or siilar) so going back to look with her shortly.... 8-)

It is a TTS so better engine seemingly and something like 5.2 to 60 with DSG. That was 911 Turbo territory when I was studying top trumps cards!

No, I believe you have to be inside the car in order to use them. HTH. :geek:
