New Japanese Sports Cars

Post by ZedLeg »

New GR86 and Nissan Z

GR86 is the replacement for the GT86 and is much the same but worse looking imo. Slightly bigger engine and a little more power, 228bhp.

Nissan Z looks more like it, 400bhp twin turbo V6. Going after the Supra. I think it looks good too.

Be interesting to see if they do well, mid market sports cars seem to be increasingly anachronistic.

Ah, I knew it was getting released in Japan and the US first. Didn't realise they're not planning to release it here at all.

I wonder if the new Supra has sold better in the US than it has here. They obviously still have a big market for the $30k to $50kish coupe with the Mustang, Camaro etc.

I can't really get my head round the new Supra, I've seen a few now, and I think it looks quite cool, but I just don't desire one.

Yeah same, I just assumed it was me being a luddite though. There are hardly any modern cars that really interest me.

I think that viewpoint is similar for many on here. I'm probably not as easily pleased as I used to be, but there's still some modern stuff that I really like.

Edit - Although the truth is, when I think of cars I really want more than my Elise, I can't usually come up with anything.

The Toyota looks like an Jaguar E-Pace.

Modern cars of interest?
Very recently, the Hyundai Kona N, as a family wagon option in the future, unless I went EV.

Saw the new GT86 in the flesh and didn’t like it. Surprised it’s on sale here again, hardly seen any about.

Same with the Z. I remember the 350 being quite popular, then no one bought the 370 so can see why they haven’t bothered.
How about not having a sig at all?
