Just got the boys a race seat, wheels and pedals, play seat evo and G29.

Gran turismo sport?

GT Sport is decent enough, not too sim, not too arcade-y. Plenty off line events to do, if you're not a PSN account holder.

Yeah I think GT Sport is probably your best bet. I found Project Cars and Assetto Corso unplayable on controller but apparently they're better with a wheel and pedals.

Think that’s the switch that’s been flicked with the boys 😅

Eldest has wanted to give up football to go karting anyway but the sim stuff can start it off!

GT sport looks good and the fact the real manufacturers with all the cars is good for the kids!

From what I heard Project Cars 2 became decent once they went through a few updates. Not to be confused with Project Cars 3 which is awful IIRC.

Project cars 2 is pretty good theses days. They have patched the majority of the bugs. Race director remains a major frustration however. Slightest touch of a kerb and you loose that lap and depending where you are on the track the subsequent lap time.

Project cars 3 needs to die in a fire.

GT Sport seems to be popular. Have a look at https://27racers.com/ they run a weekly E-Sports series based on GT Sport.
