Men in womens sport
Men in womens sport
So this weight lifter at the Olympics who competed as man fairly recently is now in the women's class after taking some drugs.
I may well be an old fashioned stick in the mud but isnt this a little unfair seeing how they were a fully developed man once?
Kinda make the Olympics a laughing stock.

Drug cheats, who gain a lasting benefit (see Gatlin for the perfect example) aren't banned for life so it's frankly a bit of a shambles anyway.
I watched that programme last week about the Paralympics and the system of classification that nations game to get the best results, and it just left me wondering if any of the professional athletics events are fair at all.

Thats maybe a different subject and I do agree on performance enhancing substances making it a bit dubious.
However this person was average as a man and now is at the olympics as a lady. The genuine women in their country have been cheated out of a place imo.

Does seem like IOC guidelines need to follow the science regardless of public sentiment one way or another. Although it confirms my current bias' it seems that she does have a significant advantage despite complying with the IOC testosterone levels.
Re: Men in womens sport
When men take estrogen it is actually an advantage in later years as it helps promote bone density.
It’s disgusting and the thought that women have trained hard within their sport and the people running it have taken any chance of winning from you.
Weightlifting at a guess is also one of the events where the physiological difference is at its biggest advantage ?
Dave!

Re: Men in womens sport
This video breaks down the physiological differences in quite a bit of detail.
If you skip to 11:08 he talks specifically about the weightlifter from New Zealand.

This Thread Would Be Better Suited to a Picture of Miks Bouncing Bollocks Abiding Zebras.

Nah, I've already had this discussion elsewhere.
I'll leave him to it.

I’ve got no interest in going through this with you again. You’re going to have to try harder with your bad faith bait.

It's not just me. It's the whole world that doesn't get how this is remotely allowed.ZedLeg wrote: Tue Jun 22, 2021 6:55 pm I’ve got no interest in going through this with you again. You’re going to have to try harder with your bad faith bait.
Re: Men in womens sport
I’ve decided I’m now disabled so I’m going to smash those wheely buggers at Paralympic basketball.

Re: Men in womens sport
I was thinking about this too. If I say I'm disabled and still have the use of my legs can I just stride in and take the ball off the smaller, lower, really disabled people?V8Granite wrote: Tue Jun 22, 2021 8:39 pm I’ve decided I’m now disabled so I’m going to smash those wheely buggers at Paralympic basketball.

Re: Men in womens sport
I see lots of able bodied disabled people do that very thing in disabled car park spaces...
