Where to sell old wedding ring?
Where to sell old wedding ring?
I know there's lots of 'cash for gold' type places around, but where's the best place to get a fair price for it? It's likely not worth a lot but must surely be worth a nice meal out or something. I wanna enjoy the value of it properly.

I took mine to a gold dealer in the jewellery quarter in Birmingham. For something small like that, I'd far rather sell it in person. Bound to be similar places in Hatton Garden.

I sold my first one in a cash for gold place on the high street. My last one was titanium so had no resale value. I was planning to throw it in Gloucester docks at a party when my divorce came through but lockdown has delayed that plan somewhat.Jobbo wrote: Tue Feb 23, 2021 9:13 am I took mine to a gold dealer in the jewellery quarter in Birmingham. Just ring around f places and ask what their scrap value is, make sure you know what carat it is and the markings are visible so you can’t be ripped off by someone claiming it’s 9 when it’s actual 18 etc

I didn't give a fluck what I got for mine (about 10% of it's cost, it turns out) just that I spent the money on something she'd have fucking hated.

...and that's what jumps into your head for something you'd enjoy doing that you know your ex wife would hate...
Re: Where to sell old wedding ring?
She'd probably have hated it more if it were during the marriage

Re: Where to sell old wedding ring?
Loosely related topic but despite only being married once, I am on my 5th wedding ring due to breaking/losing/outgrowing previous ones.

Current one is Tungsten Carbide so was about £25. TC rings can be brittle due to the hardness - which is extraordinary. Not a mark or a scratch on it.

I've worn mine about 3 times, I hate wearing any kind of jewellery.
Infact I don't actually know where it is

But how do you guys avoid spending half of your day just explaining to all the hotties “sorry babes - I’m already taken” ?

I'm pretty sure that's not what those seagulls were trying to say, even if they could speak English.mik wrote: Tue Feb 23, 2021 4:51 pm But how do you guys avoid spending half of your day just explaining to all the hotties “sorry babes - I’m already taken” ?

I would say move on, without some extravagant social-meeds thing of what you spent the money on. I presume the ex. has posted something along those lines and you want to one-up. Better than that, etc.
I wear a signet and my wedding ring and don't really have any probs. It just gives a heads-up to the ladeez of course.

Go for a walk and if you see someone struggling a bit or a homeless person in need of a pick me up, just give it to them.
