You got to be checking your batch numbers man.

Nope, only had it once, when I was 18 or so. A girl took advantage of my incredibly drunken state. Never again.

I can’t even remember what it tastes like!

Tastes like port, tried it once, never again..
Re: No Buckfast thread?
I know I started this Fred, but I’ve only ever had a sip to taste it. Very Port/Sherry like. Never drunk it as such. Manky liquid

Hasn’t it now been under cut as tramp fuel by Tennets Special?

If it tastes like port/sherry what's so wrong with it?
Re: No Buckfast thread?
It does not taste like port/sherry. What port/sherry is to wine, bucky is to TCP. Syrupy and medicinal/industrial.Swervin_Mervin wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 1:42 pm If it tastes like port/sherry what's so wrong with it?
The thing I didn't know about bucky before I moved to Scotland is that a bottle has more caffine than a vokda red bull. Hence why it's fighting juice.

Re: No Buckfast thread?
I've never understood why a drink from about as far south as you can go in the UK is popular in Scotchland when you can't find it in most of the area inbetween.

I've never seen it for sale !
It's strange how it even became a Scottish thing

Re: No Buckfast thread?
It’s cheap and it gets you messed up. I’d bet it used to be available in more places but fell out of fashion, whereas it’s always been popular up here.
Like I say, I used to drink loads of the stuff but I haven’t touched it for years.

I saw a bottle in my local shop the other day, tempted to give it a whirl.

It used to be the highest % alcohol per price you could buy hence the tramp love but I think it has been undercut now.
Re: No Buckfast thread?
It’s more expensive then just getting cheap wine but all the caffeine has it’s own appeal .
Minimum pricing killed the cheap onion cider market.

Re: No Buckfast thread?
Apparently it's the Irish market version that has that much caffeine - same caffeine as a shot of espresso/100ml . The UK version is half that - same as black tea/100ml.Nefarious wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 2:39 pmIt does not taste like port/sherry. What port/sherry is to wine, bucky is to TCP.
