I bought a 1994 Civic Coupe.
<snip>
It started life as a 1.5 automatic but has had a B16A2 engine with manual swap at some point. Plenty of other track mods like coilovers, LSD and so on. Plan is to tidy it up a bit as there is rust in the usual places (90's Honda life), maybe some period correct mods then turbo it.
Very nice. Cut price Integra

Far too cheap on eBay so had to purchase?
Yeah that's what I'm telling myself!

In a proper 90's colour too. That was all the rage on the Rover 100's .

It's GAF but the colour was a large part in deciding to buy it. There was a non-starter auto coupe for sale about 20 minutes away that looked to be in great condition body wise and only went for £800, but it was red.

Always disliked cars with mismatched light clusters, ever since I noticed it on Vauxhall novas in the 80s

So the mitos have been buggin me for a while.
So bought a reversing light for a lhd car. Took about 5mins to fit, just one slightly awkward to get to 8mm bolt then wiggle it out.
Just hope we don't get any fog as I've not got a red bulb yet. Turns out all the bulbs on a mito are canbus / error checked so it doesn't like generic led ones.
Would have preferred a lhd fog light and gone all red purely for looks, but then there's no way to get a white reverse light and we have a dark and narrow driveway to reverse down.

We’ve been gifted a small trailer. The wood’s rotten but the chassis is totally sound. Easy resto job.
Nobody seems to know how old it is but the tyres say “Made in German Democratic Republic”. That’s not existed since 1990

Halfords still sell something like that for a joke price of £500.

Pulled over to help a guy who broke down in a black Celica Gt4 on the way to the van today. Cut out in traffic on the A64 near where the Hazlebush cafe used to be, spent about 20 mins with him checking pipes as it smelt like it was running rich as fuck. But it restarted. Hes just spent 6k on a forged engine rebuild and sent it for mapping.
Seemingly the board on the ECU is breaking down and blowing capacitors for some reason causing it to over fuel and idle like a sack of shit.
He has a plug and play piggyback ECU (not sure which type) but it got going and he turned off before long.
Great looking thing it was
Hope he got home ok.

I've bought because of colour before (I may brave putting pics up...), and have my eye on a couple of things atm
For sure if I had the garage space I'd have a collection of random cars in uncommon colours and/or trims.

3 series in for MOT today - See how these LED bulbs fair.
Technically they should fail for a light source incompatible with the light unit, but hopefully if the beam pattern is ok and the tester isn't an arse they should pass it.
A pass I assume. Unfair!

The ones I fitted to the A2 (because I got fed up with bulbs not lasting long) failed the mot, one of the halogens I fitted to pass has already gone 7-8 weeks later

At least they're easy enough to change.

Are those BMW wheels forged?
No, they're genuine
(sensible answer - yes they are)

oem goodness
Not sure if I should be happy I was right, I only asked because from their simple pattern/style they looked to me like they should be

I've just come across a company called
CANchecked who make a very nifty little data display / logger and some custom mounts too, including one for the E30 (which is the same as the E36 Compact). It clips in to replace the vent, and swivels up & down too, and reads live data from the car, and displays it in a very customisable layout.
Want !

scotta has your Fabia got two fans behind the radiator?
I wanted to check they were both working after my off, and only the slighter higher up of the two, the one nearest the battery, came on. This was once the temp reached about 98-99 degrees, according to my bluetooth-connected OBDII dongle and Car Scanner app.
Haynes manual shows the following:

This suggests fan 1 should have come on at a lower temp.
I don't know which one is fan 1 and fan 2.
Do you have a connector, low down in the engine bay behind the fans?
I have these two parts that look like they should be connected?
Maybe they came apart when I was pulling the mud out from beneath the engine?!
This is looking down, with the fans at the bottom of the shot (overexposed to brighten what's in the gloom beneath).

That's slightly blurry, I apologise. The end with the ribbed cover on it (oo-er) is higher up. The end with the red wires is coming out from underneath.
I would need to get underneath and get the sump guard off to try and reconnect them, hence checking first.
Here is the connector on the upper end, that I can reach. This is coming out of that clipped in tubing that you can see.

If it fills and slowly leaks away it's likely that it's the compressor shaft seal, they shrink when the system is not used and then leak. As the system is not running when fill it will hold the vacuum for the required time and then fill. Had this in my navara, needed a new compressor.
It’s a Porsche. The condensers are rotten.
They probably are but is it worth regassing and checking rather than replacing the units willy nilly?
What was the verdict?

I've done about 600 miles in the M340i now and been really pleased with. It's all the car you'll ever need.
Me and my son had a go at launch control yesterday but it is mechanically brutal so going to wait a few more miles before repeating and trying to film it .

Twotted this last night.
White shows up tar spots more than other colours, but the amount picked up this year is crazy.
Luckily 45mins of WFH sorted it....

It's definitely not the power supply to the fan(s) but it could be a sensor. I'd be inclined to plug it in and see what happens.
(or maybe check the wiring colours and compare to the wiring diagram in the back of the manual)

Another 15 mins of WFH to run the clay over (which picked up practically nothing) and zip a coat of wax on (again - extremely quick when the paint is spotless).
That’s better.
