A complete failure in every respect of the DC police. Every respect.

They should have started caving faces in at the 15 sec moment. Not stepping aside (at 1:30), and letting them smash the glass in, so that security on the other side, where elected representatives were felt it necessary to shoot through the glass at them, leaving someone shot in the throat who ultimately died - even if she was a retarded cunt. And no, I won't edit that. She was. Fuck that retarded cunt.

US police - utterly, entirely racist. If these 'protestors' were black, they'd have been lit up when they tried to climb the stairs, period.

If someone black had started punching that glass at 15 secs in, and the rest of the group were less than the palest of the pale, that entire group would have been utterly massacred. If you don't believe that, then perhaps re-assess how clever you think you are.

And if you're defending it...hey, perhaps just go slit your own wrists - you're a waste of good haemoglobin.

You though are just as bad as everyone else spewing hatred from either side. You’re coming across as bad as the people you are angry against.

You can see that Trump is clearly a power hungry lunatic though right? And that what he has done (not just now, but throughout his tenure) has been completely shocking, wrong and regressive? I don't think you have to be interested in US politics to see that; it's gone beyond politics.

People are angry because it's gone on too long and it's got too out of control, and somehow the structures currently in place have not been able to curtail it no matter how outrageous it gets.

I think in general, the whole concept of people being moved to violence over fictional flights of fancy (QAnon etc) has a lot of similarities with Islamic extremism.

So everyone screaming to everyone absolute hatred will fox things ?

All I see is absolute embarrassing behaviour from everyone with a social media account. All stirring things up and all part of the problem. This is the absolute worst part of social media and all sides should be ashamed.

It’s like football hooligans but with laptops, I see no difference in behaviours apart from being able to hide behind screens.

Mainstream news in the last 10 years is a joke.

A president incited a riot to break in and vandalise their own House of Parliament resulting in several deaths....

...but let's not worry about that, let's just focus on whether the authorities are racist or not, like you can solve the whole country's problems in one discussion.

Either way, it definitely takes the focus off Trump.

I don't disagree that the bile on social media from both sides is unpleasant and doesn't help. I also agree that the media is handling a lot of things poorly.

I'm really just asking you if you see the problem with Trump and what he's created? And whether you see how wrong it is?

You don't need to listen to any media/opinion to see this, the man speaks for himself. Listening to him alone should be enough.

Of course i see what an absolute fuckwit he is, I also see that screaming at him isn’t going to help, that accusing any policeman of being racist isn’t going to help, accusing anyone who voted him in of being a white supremacist isn’t going to help and linking, following and presenting anyone who does the above to more people is all part of the problem.

Everyone involved is goading people into violent action by carrying on the tension and creating increased frustration.

If my little little boy is angry and frustrated I calm him down, I don’t scream at what he is angry about and make things worse. Explain how social media on each side is helping ?

Don’t fuel the idiot and his trump army, it’s just joining in and as bad as them.

I find it very interesting that when far right is held to account there comes a plethora of "Both sides are terrible" type posts.

I must be missing the posts where "fer left" (the ones who seem to want a living wage and a publicly funded NHS, maybe free BB for all) commentators and leaders are urging their supporters to storm parliament buildings to overthrow democratic election results?

They may well exist but it does seem that far right views are often racist, borderline fascist v free school meals and nationalised services.

So you don’t think the far left are creating issues, they just want free school meals and a living wage 😂.

Far left and far right are absolute wastes of time, full of over emotional children who think the world is out to get them.

It’s 2020 and it feels like the news from tribal quarrels in Africa.

I wonder why people being able to live on the wage they earn for working full time is considered far left tbh.

You are not actually attempting to answer my question, just parrot it back with a laughing icon to imply I am either stupid or naive. Put me right then, give me examples where "far" left are creating issues?

Which far left world leader is inciting their supporters to violence?

As I said in the original post, I keep seeing people, who ostensibly appear to be right of centre saying one is as bad as the other, yet I am struggling to think of left examples, rather than patronise me, can you give some examples? I am happy to read and see if I am missing the far left bile, it is entirely possible.

I am talking about all the crap that’s spoken on social media. All the hatred being passed both ways. I’m not and have never mentioned if what the left and right specifically are saying as I think most of it is emotional crap. If you think both sides aren’t abusing this then that’s your opinion.

I also haven’t mentioned any leaders and what they have specifically said whether they be right or left.

Also a living wage is not the fight of the left or the right, it’s people’s views on what is enough. You don’t agree or disagree with that if you voted Tory or Labour you can have an opinion either way.

Just to clarify, as clearly I am the most important voice on this forum (we've had this discussion before, if you take me seriously, look at yourself seriously).

Well known bleeding heart lefty has wine and had a rant.

oh no, etc.

Also, the both-sideism is laughable. Give yer heads a wobble, kids.

I pretty much ignore anyone who decides to end a rant telling everyone who doesn't agree with them to slit their wrists. Not cool mate.

That would be a great point if that were what I had said. I think it was pretty clear that my point was aimed at people who might defend the actions of an incompetent, institutionally racist and white-surpremacist loving police force.

Not people who disagree with me. If everyone who disagreed with me killed themselves the planet would be fucking empty

Edit: Also, if that wasn't clear due to wine based language construciton fail, then I blame the wine. And anyone who, again, takes anything I say seriously. How many times do I have to tell you people that I'm a fucking idiot??

Anyway, UNSUBTLE CHANGE OF SUBJECT, Seth Abramson is no fan of Trump (has written several books about how he's a complete cunt, etc) but he's started going through and analysing Trumps speech before the riot, in detail. He's been at it for five hours and the thread is 170+ posts long.

Clearly he has a perspective he's working from, but some of his insights on the language and framing used are extremely sharp - be interesting to see how those points would be rebutted in as they are, upon reflection, quite self evident.

I'd recommend skipping this thread till tomorrow, as I suspect he has a few hours left yet. But it's definitely an interesting read.
