And I said it earlier in the thread, Musk is specifically moving away from an advertising-supported model on Twitter, so I'm not sure why you're all so obsessed with him losing ad revenue it's as if you're obsessively focused on the short term

I hate to point this out, but ads pay for the vast majority of the internet and almost the entirety of social media. Twitter is no exception and it cannot make itself so just because Musk is a man child who is 'failing in public view'. Recreating Twitter as an 'everything' app that generates revenue without ads just won't happen in the short timeframe that Musk has to pay the bills now that he's saddled Twitter with huge amounts of debt.

Ad revenue has been in decline while ad-free websites such as Medium and publishing platform Substack are operating with zero money from advertisers. I realise that advertising is the dominant method of monetising a site, however it is not the only way.

I wouldn’t say Tesla haven’t advertised they’ve just avoided traditional channels. If anything they were an early adopter of influencer led marketing as a lot of the early press over Tesla stemmed from pap shots of celebs driving them.
