Re: Twitter
I have the correct take on life, I thought we had repeatedly established this, in this thread alone?

Re: Twitter
Ad revenue has been in decline while ad-free websites such as Medium and publishing platform Substack are operating with zero money from advertisers. I realise that advertising is the dominant method of monetising a site, however it is not the only way.Simon wrote: Fri Dec 02, 2022 4:23 pmI hate to point this out, but ads pay for the vast majority of the internet and almost the entirety of social media. Twitter is no exception and it cannot make itself so just because Musk is a man child who is 'failing in public view'. Recreating Twitter as an 'everything' app that generates revenue without ads just won't happen in the short timeframe that Musk has to pay the bills now that he's saddled Twitter with huge amounts of debt.Gavster wrote: Fri Dec 02, 2022 8:46 am Kanye West outed himself as a complete lunatic with even more idiotic views than we'd ever seen before - this is a good way to deal with things - give people space to express themselves so we can all make a judgement.
And I said it earlier in the thread, Musk is specifically moving away from an advertising-supported model on Twitter, so I'm not sure why you're all so obsessed with him losing ad revenueit's as if you're obsessively focused on the short term
Re: Twitter
Elon doesn't even believe in advertising does he. He repeatedly says it's all a waste of money and somewhat proved it with Tesla's success which has so far used no advertising at all. I wonder if this is a more common opinion than is currently thought, after all, who sees an advert for an expensive item like an iPhone or a car or a TV and then thinks - "I'll go and buy that exact item which is being advertised" - It's all BS IMO.
Speaking of ads I'm not getting any at all on the twitter app - despite no adblock, so maybe everyone has pulled out.

Definitely not a massive fucking racist taking things hugely out of context to suit his agenda then. Here's some more context, from The Telegraph - the fucking Telegraph of all places.Retired businessman in Windsor!Multi culturism does not work. Send the Illegal Immigrants back !

Re: Twitter
I wouldn’t say Tesla haven’t advertised they’ve just avoided traditional channels. If anything they were an early adopter of influencer led marketing as a lot of the early press over Tesla stemmed from pap shots of celebs driving them.Mito Man wrote: Sat Dec 03, 2022 3:55 pm Elon doesn't even believe in advertising does he. Re: Twitter
Not sure how much control Tesla had to influence that, they stated that they didn't endorse celebrities to drive their cars. It just so happened that famous people bought them because they were the only viable EVs and got papped driving them. Same reason why every famous person in California also had a Prius during that period to appear green but they only wanted to be able to drive in the carpool lane - which I believe still applies.ZedLeg wrote: Sat Dec 03, 2022 9:32 pmI wouldn’t say Tesla haven’t advertised they’ve just avoided traditional channels. yeah, I had a virgin advert on Twitter earlier and I realised it was the first ad I'd seen on there for days and days.Mito Man wrote: Sat Dec 03, 2022 9:53 pm Speaking of ads I'm not getting any at all on the twitter app - despite no adblock, so maybe everyone has pulled out.

It's unclear if you are posting in shock at or in support of this tweet. The thread is quite a read though. These people do sadly walk among us.

I posted it in relation to Twitter free speech and/or censorship. I haven't read the thread, I'm going to have to now, aren't I?tim wrote: Sat Dec 03, 2022 10:31 pm It's unclear if you are posting in shock at or in support of this tweet. Kanye may have briefly been using Twitter as a platform again but now he's not, he is surely causing Zuckerberg some problems?

How is the reduction in bots going, Elon?

Fuck me he's trying to Agile in animal testingThey said they had advocated for a more traditional testing approach, in which researchers would test one element at a time in an animal study and draw relevant conclusions before moving on to more animal tests. Instead, these people said, Neuralink launches tests in quick succession before fixing issues in earlier tests or drawing complete conclusions. The result: More animals overall are tested and killed, in part because the approach leads to repeated tests.

Re: Twitter
Apparently Elon is refinancing part of the debt he took to to acquire Twitter: https://electrek.co/2022/12/08/elon-mus ... t-twitter/
It seems he didn't give security over his Tesla shares but that he will do so to refinance. So contrary to my previous analysis, his ownership of Tesla was not in direct jeopardy previously but will be if he goes with this and Twitter fails/loses value.
