JL, it might be a wise idea not to go there again anyway, but I recall RichB's advice: stay at the head end. Best wishes for the birth :)

As does walking the dog.

At work I’m generally running large complex technical jobs, have stress, people wanting my time and loads of things to think about.

Lego gives me snippets of time when I can focus on an easy mechanical job. It fits in perfectly around children as I simply can’t disappear for hours on my bike when I have so many other needs of my time.

It’s easy, fun, let’s you focus.

Interesting one actually. I can only unwind doing a task that requires concentration. Working on the bikes / quad / boat is my perfect balance. If it was easy it just wouldn't engage me and the crazy would not be subdued

Yep, that was passed to me by my brother in law - no good can come from venturing down there!

Hope all goes well JL - it’s a long process, but once it all starts, just do whatever you’re told to do (you will probably be wrong either way so just go with it!)

Grab some alone time with them when you can, that first chat is an important one.

Yeah the nipper, saying hello and telling them the way of the world is an important one, I remember my chats vividly and it’s very special to me.

A word of caution, depending on her position and angle, staying at the head end might not be enough to avoid seeing things happen. Could be that it is because I'm over a foot taller than the other half, but I saw all three emerge from the supposedly safe end.

Anyway, enjoy the bundle of joy when it arrives and all the best!

Yes, that is without doubt the only way to interpret Alex's post. Moron.

Get stuck in and watch the lot  Mind you some of it I wish I could un-see. After 36hrs of labour my Mrs had to have an emergency C section and they let me watch it all. That was fucking awesome, especially seeing little McSwede being pulled from within and lifted aloft like the FA Cup (a football trophy)!!

An Echo Dot (actually a birthday present, but still, same time of year)
Some bluetooth headphones
Douglas Adams, Salmon of Doubt
A mini sucker mount and 32GB SD card for my cheap GoPro-clone so I can do longer boring track day videos
A lesson at a cookery school
Some posh shave gel/toner.
Left over crest; tightens.

The usual smellies. Socks. Cliche stuff. I did get a some really nice things. A new camelback and the funds to get the dropper post I want for the trail bike. Also the wife got us tickets to Fleetwood Mac farewell tour in the summer which will be a real once in a lifetime treat.
