There's a few that still won't buy them because of the inflated cost of or flat refusal to insure some models and parts prices/availability. There's definitely more people looking for a good condition import (even more so in the classic shape) than a halo UK model but there are a few (usually the ones who want a fun daily driver).Jobbo wrote: Wed Aug 15, 2018 3:51 pmI can see that being relevant when they're nearly new, but a decade on I though the JDM-yo! models would have a bit more of a following. The people who buy new are scared of imports, the people who buy classics want something special.drcarlos wrote: Wed Aug 15, 2018 3:22 pm I think the WR1 and RB320 are coveted by the 'i'm not buying an import crew' so it artificially inflates their prices as halo cars for the officially imported range.
Personally I don't really care but I went for the UK spec WRX because it was a wagon as it's my current daily. If it had been a fun car an import STi of some description would have been looked at over a UK car for sure.
