I can see that being relevant when they're nearly new, but a decade on I though the JDM-yo! models would have a bit more of a following. The people who buy new are scared of imports, the people who buy classics want something special.
There's a few that still won't buy them because of the inflated cost of or flat refusal to insure some models and parts prices/availability. There's definitely more people looking for a good condition import (even more so in the classic shape) than a halo UK model but there are a few (usually the ones who want a fun daily driver).

Personally I don't really care but I went for the UK spec WRX because it was a wagon as it's my current daily. If it had been a fun car an import STi of some description would have been looked at over a UK car for sure.

Dude, you know exactly how weird Ford fans are ;)

Although even I don't get the love for the RSTurbots of any stripe.

Thing is, if you search the RA-Rs (which have VERY few enhancements over a normal Spec-C, nothing like the night and day between a UK STi and a Spec C) the prices are £35k - £65k !

Cheapest:

It feels a bit like 911 GT3s being valued no differently to Carreras, yet GT3 RSs being over twice the price.

Oh - and it had received some relevant and well thought out mods. When I asked my mate if that would affect the value he said yeah, that's why it's so cheap.

Mint stock ones are thirty fucking grand!!

Welcome to the world of Ford, where some total basic shitbox from the 80's is worth 10K!

I DON'T GET IT!! Even a nice 2-door Cossie is an old shit Sierra with a warm-hatch amount of bhp. They're like 50k or something for a shit one?

I know, every Ford I have had has been universally shit too. I had an Orion 1.6 Ghia that was about 6/7 years old and the thing had massive rust holes in it, it appeared to be made from papier mache. My Scooby is twice the age and higher mileage and hardly has a blemish. Back then we used to amuse ourselves by baiting the Modded RS Turbo and XR boys with my mates CRX which although standard dumped on them from a large height.
When you think you could have a nice condition Griffith 500 or a nice RS Turbo there ain't no contest, V8 wins every time.

I like them as well, but not at 50k or 500k or 5m or whatever they're worth today. If I could get a mint RS500 for the say 5k they're worth, bring it on. Except the first one I looked up was 80k and no doubt it has a non-OEM spark plug fitted by someone other than Andy Rouse and that's knocked 1478392k off the value or something.

I was trying to point someone at the advert the other day and couldn't find it. Hope you don't miss it too much :(

I took a deposit a couple of weeks ago that's why I withdrew the ad.

Going to miss it a lot, especially the noise. But on the other hand I now appreciate the Audi so much that I'll be trying to grab those keys instead of the BMW whenever I can.

The combination of that supercharged instant response with the stronic gearbox makes the BMW feel clumsy and lethargic.

Did consider replacing the S4 with an RS4 but I'm not sure that I would prefer it.

That’s too cheap for such a special car but I guess market dictates the price.
