I'm sure I had cars with sub-300 mile range before - the Impreza Turbo rings a bell - but I didn't drive to work in those days.
Need to get on with putting my actual car plans in place for this year (changing the Jimny for a Tourareg) rather than thinking about changing the S6 for something else. I genuinely thought the RS5 looked great but I guess it was always going to suffer the same thing as the M3 Touring; it's just a smaller car than the A6 platform. Wish Porsche still offered a Panamera Sportwagon.
They clearly like it a lot. 48l fuel tank too, not a mere 45l. Still inadequate and the reference to 70mpg is the usual fantasy figure for a PHEV
I'm getting over 70mpg out of my GLC300e at the moment - but thats driving it on pure Battery from Monday to Saturday and only using the ICE on Sundays...

Just watched it. Still can't get past the weight. The power to weight ratio isn't that far off my CSL, despite having 630bhp (I know it will monster over my CSL in most circumstances) even if it does handle nicely, you're still just making a hippo move quickly on its toes!
Other than the exhausts, it looks good to me. I quite like the green.

With options the article reckons it'll be £110k; there wasn't much you needed to add to the old RS4 or RS6 so I was expecting it to be more in line with the list price. And I checked on BMW's site; if you want a 2.5 tonne PHEV estate car with actual space, more power and a V8 the M5 Touring is in fact cheaper (a few available under £105k new). I bet it has more than a 48l fuel tank. What is doesn't have is enough appeal to spend that money on it

My wifes Bug Eye WRX Wagon was 200ish running the kids around and part of the reason it went. My G87 M2 would only take 50l for circa 250 miles!

With your ability to charge every night, would a Taycan Sport/Cross Turismo not work? I’m sure you’ve look at it already

A Taycan would work for getting to work and back, definitely. But not for dropping my wife at Heathrow, or a trip to Scotland or whatever. Plus the boot is tiny so wouldn’t be any good for fitting a bike in. Basically it’s a nice Porsche, but wouldn’t beat a 911.
