8-)

Sounds like no regrets from making the jump. ~The usability factor shouldn't be underestimated; like you mentioned on the motorway, as much as it's neither cars forte, it can make many journeys far more pleastant and therefore more likely to use it. I've been watching quite a few road tests since you bought yours....where do you feel it sits between the Elise and the Evora for involvement/refinement/usability etc?

It’s very much near the Evora I’d say. Without having driven an Evora though it’s hard to say.

Pfft - I’ve seen his driving you know ;)

Doesn’t have +2 of Evora but closer to that than an Elise in terms of size. Closer to Elise in terms of weight. Alpine out-Lotuses-Lotus.

Lovely! I've only had a brief test drive in one, didn't get to exploit it at all but they definitely appeal.

What's the spec of it? (sorry if I missed that).

Its a Premier Edition. Limited to 1955 models. They had all the kit on them. Parking Sensors, Telematics, Blue Stitching, Blue Alpine logos, Alpine badges on the wings, Auto lights & Wipers, Focal Hifi, 320mm brakes, Blue callipers, Pearlescent Paint & this one has the diamond cut alloys.

The "pure" base model cars dont have any of those

"Blanc Solaire" only available on these Premier Edition cars. Later cars had a different white.

Is that like how an albino mole would be a different white to an arctic mole?

The Arctic mole has a brown pearlescent flip IIRC.

Not sure if you've heard this week's Chris Harris and Friends podcast yet, but have you found that your car has a boot?

Jesus - Yeah thats a bit dim.

Funny story - I opened the Froot at the dealer and there was a set of standard springs in it that he didnt realise were there

A week or two after I had the lowering springs fitted to my MX5, I was going away for the weekend and opened the boot to put my bag in and found a big box in it. Which I hadn't left there. It was the standard springs which had been taken off

CH's mate doesn't realise he has a froot in addition to a boot for several months, and then moans it's not very big..... maybe my definition of useful space is different to his

Still hard to fathom how Porsche can fit a boot three times the depth in a Cayman yet not possible for the Alpine. Looks like they just tried to make it a regular shape/depth at the expense of size. Although actually - the pictures on this thread suggest it is more useful than it looks:

<shrugs> Cayman is McPherson struts at the front non? Alpine is double wishbone. Probably has some impact?

Zero storage at the front on an Evora - it's all radiators.

Instinctively that sounds right but then I remembered the latest GT3 moved to double wishbone and I don't think that affected the frunk size (but not 100% sure).

Having just come back from a trip to Yorkshire in the 911 where we took three cabin size carry cases, two back packs, a longchamp bag, a suit carrier, a bag with three bottles of wine, a bag of shoes/boots, some coats and three people, I think P cars are just masters of packaging. Yes its bigger than an Alpine but not that much bigger.

The 360 has a front boot a similar size to the 996 despite having double wishbones. Maybe something to do with more modern crash test regulations ?

Yes ferrari do it well too.

296 front boot still pretty similar to a 360 looking at it.
