I'm going to double down and not only say "all the olives", pitted or unpitted, but also yes to the dirty martini (dirty vespa is actually my martini of choice), and yes to all the brines and pickling liquors (vinegar from pickled onions is the best on chips, the oil from sun-dried tomatoes is a great general flavour-enhancer, but particularly good for finishing cous-cous, the brine from shellfishy stuff makes a great base for a seafood sauce).

But then I like pretty much *everything*

I really like Marmite on toast, and whilst I can eat it in stuff like crisp and nut flavours I see them as sub-par to many other flavours.

Correctness. I find that many of the "British" varieties are too sweet.

A favourite sandwich is extra mature cheddar, gherkins, mayo and mustard.

I'm a sucker for gherkins, love them. And drink the pickle juice when you've eaten them all - it's good for you.

I'll eat an entire jar of sweet picked onions without stopping so yeah, go for it

I've been in a calorie deficit for a few weeks to slim down and fit into an old suit, the mention of a chippy tea is making my mouth water

I used to love Marmite Duncs, until I was about 7/8, when my Dad introduced us to Bovril. It was like some sort of Holy awakening. And then I went right off Marmite. Even if I taste it now I can't help but think, "Bovril would be far better in this application". Apart from on Marmite flavoured things - they would be quite wrong if Bovril flavoured.

I might have to try this Bovril stuff, but sadly the wife is vegan and likes Marmite so even if I like it I might have stick to Marmite so as not to clutter the cupboards.

That's a tricky situation Duncs. I can well imagine that spreading liquid beef all over your toast in the morning might not prove popular, not least as it works best when you have a slick of melted butter to spread it over.
