This vid did however transport me back > 30 years to when I didn't get round to sorting the whining gearbox bearing on my SuperStrada. It's slow collapse/self destruction eventually caused so much swarf in the 'box oil that the 1st gear synchro locked that gear onto the shaft. Which would have been inconvenient at any time, but particularly so when I was already doing 70(ish)mph on the M8 whilst in 5th gear. Split the gearbox casing, bent both driveshafts like bananas, destroyed 2 tyres (mahoosive flat spots). Gearbox was toast, but - silver lining - pulling it apart to see if anything could be recovered taught me loads about gearboxes.....

What I liked from the vid was how clearly it was all explained and demonstrated. Seemed fairly difficult to refute to me. Their sole defence seems to be "you shouldn't have driven it".

I’m also bit sure the release bearing would always be putting pressure on the centre of the clutch. Even with the centre too long I would have thought there would still be clearance between the centre and fingers, which obviously would close up when the clutch was actually pressed. Although we don’t get to see how it all sits once bolted up. - I only got to about half way through last night so maybe there is somewhere.

I also would have thought you’d hear / feel it, although with a v10 between you and it I guess it’s a lot less obvious than when the clutch is by your ankles.

I used to love his mk2 golf stuff but have pretty much zero interest in his R8 project for some reason.

Lots of people in the comments saying he's been robbed by the garage. Probably hard to tell without actually seeing and hearing it first hand, but not a great outcome regardless..

He bought that car a fair while ago and started branching out into cars once he began to make some decent money off his viral protein stunts.

That's funny because same here too

I think it's because some of his videos looked like they were trying to be sensational and over-hyping things, but the reality is that he's a really solid CG and 100% follows through on any claims he makes.

I posted the above vid before I'd watched most of it. Topic is of interest to me as I considered both of these as potential Evora replacements (or at least I did until Noble released the list price).

@Matty - looks like Tiff has loaned them his car.

Enjoyed the interaction between Tom & Oli, but found the "I was assigned to champion this one, therefore I am going to repeatedly rubbish the one you brought along" construct a bit wearing. Good mix of road and track thoughts.

Interesting choice of driving footwear from Tom.

Noble looks proper quick, but having traction control yet no ABS still baffles me.

Well done gents for assessing sound under load - it's always different to stoopidly revving the things whilst static.

Nobody mentions it, but Stig seems to be struggling with 2nd-3rd shift on the Emira. His changes are pretty slow and measured - he misses one change on the timed lap and has to re-slot it. I can't find a redline number, but Stig seems to change up before 6.5krpm in the Noble, so those who love screaming revs on their supercar are unlikely to be impressed.

They focus a lot on the price of the Lotus (despite it being half of the Noble), which isn't exactly unfair, but comparisons with Evora pricing aren't really accurate - the last of the Evora (and Exige) models were asking £big also.

There's a video of Tiff saying it's his, but it appears in plenty of other videos without Tiff. Was it a press/demo car where the films are coming out gradually but it has already become a long-termer for Tiff perhaps?

He made a comment about removing the back seats and Lotus finally seeing sense....except the +2 Evora was far more popular than the +0 and selling the latter could be hard work...so I'd suggest that if anything, they'd have been better keeping it.

Oddly, the the Noble looks like the cheaper car. Proportions are horrible as well.
