Harry said they were only bringing a few hundred a year here.

Like I say, it’s a shame because it seems like a decent truck and I would’ve liked a cheap one in a few years

That extra level of toughness just isn't needed here and compromises the car for everyday usability (no air suspension, 4 cylinder commercial engine, separate chassis). Don't get me wrong, I think they're great and would be a no brainer in some countries. But can see why people would rather have a plusher LR product especially at similar money. I'd like to think I would choose a LC as they're cool, but in reality would have a Defender.
All of the above. If I wanted all of those compromises I'd buy... a Grenadier (and still get a nice BMW 6cyl).
You’d have to really want a Grenadier to choose it over its rivals tbh.

Live axles at both ends means it’s not any more refined on road and the Toyota and G-Wagen were both equally capable off road in the Top Gear test.

Yeah, get past the London image of a G63, put some decent wheels and tyres on it and enjoy a life where it doesn’t kill you on the drive to the mountains, can overtake a truck and has an AMG V8. Or buy a V8 Defender.. cos noise is important! And you won’t be climbing the Himalayas every day..

I actually like the Toyota and in a £40-50k pickup truck, that would be a farm vehicle that makes sense.. but as an LC - too expensive and too poor aurally

Aye, a Hilux at £35k +vat looks pretty appealing next to the LC

Saying that, I reckon the problems with the LC could be solved with a tuning box and some dynamat.

I quite like it, although prefer the round headlight version.

That engine noise though, sounds like a 40 year old London taxi, wouldn’t be happy having spent £70k!

Could forgive it if it performed well, or gave decent economy, but doesn’t really do either of those.

Quite a lot of criticism of Harry's cosying up to Bamford - both in the Youtube comments and on PH. I guess I was only slightly ahead of the curve when I said a month ago in a different thread that I now questioned his output:
Jobbo wrote: Sun Nov 24, 2024 7:46 pm Harry Metcalfe has promoted the ridiculous petition on Twitter - https://x.com/harrym_vids/status/186075 ... K4AJQ64qaQ

I have always had a great deal of respect for him until recently - but I think he’s crossed over from unbiased commenter now and that puts into question all of his output. Shame.
The thing is, this is the sort of thing which will probably get him more viewers. Farage has a much wider audience than Badenoch, for instance (Harry maybe should cosy up to Farage rather than Badenoch then ;) ) - compromising your integrity doesn't seem to have much of a consequence on social media.

Integrity is for losers, and facts don't care about your feelings, Jobbo.

Well the entire medium speed world is going over to Hydrogen so I’d say JCB are absolutely nailing it.

£313k list - £500k with options.

Just beyond parody at this point. It does sound good mind.

Yay, another absurdly priced car with a terrible user interface.

Surely it’s just a differential in front of the engine for the front wheels, not a gearbox like he kept saying?

The rear has an 8 speed gear box, with a 2 speed box drawing power from the front of the crankshaft, clutch on both half shafts.

An extended warranty probably for the best.

Poor-ah-sang-way.

I haven’t been interested enough to watch any reviews on it, so that sounded funny to me.

The bit with the heated seats reminded me of what I thought when I saw the BMW panoramic jobbie; you can't have a passenger anymore, you need a co-driver. If half the reason manufacturers went to 'screens was cost saving, adding another/more to make the system usable is - well, I guess the other screens are options at £ridic..
Funkymatic suspension can do all sorts of amazing things, except lift the front. That'll be another £5000

A general q.; wit' rt radar cruise, when the radar doesn't work can it still function as normal cruise?

Fair enough.

Being a huge suv thing without the height and space constraints of the FF I assumed they’d just give it a normal transfer box and propshaft to the front 😄

Fairly uncomfortable seats, horrible interface, averagely practical for its class. Surely for long trips a Bentagya/RR etc would be much better suited.

Okay so it has a nice sounding V12, but I don't think my wife and kids would appreciate it whilst thrashing it through icy roads. So better if you're on your own, but if you're on your own, a F12 (even on snow tyres) would be more enjoyable. Don't see the point of the Purosangue.

Bit of a broad brush viewpoint this one, but the kind of brash cunt that would buy a Purosangue, isn't going to give a fuck what the wife and kids think

Also quite ugly, and I was surprised when Harry said there was a 2-yr waiting list; I got the impression that the initial demand had been fully satisfied and there were no longer waiting lists. Maybe the guy doing £9,500 airbrushed badges on the front wings is a bottleneck in the production process.

I don't hate how it looks, just a bit odd in places and obviously no where near as nice as a traditional coupe.

Just seems a poor family car, so would likely be used by people on their own for the weekday.

2yr waiting list is mad.

Production on them is capped to a pretty small number annually because Ferrari don’t want to go the way of other manufacturers and end up primarily selling SUVs. And that also means they can charge a lot more for them because everyone wants a SUV.
I don’t mind it, V12, looks alright which is about how all modern Ferraris look. I imagine if it’s anything like the Urus anyone who buys one now will probably have free motoring for 3 years and sell it at the same price they bought it.
