Someone on PH has posted an MOT check for the Countach showing it expired in May

Just realised in Harry's Bugatti video, when he turns the steering wheel the front wheels are visible and they don't turn. I thought it seemed very effortless. Clearly no mechanical link, like the Tesla Cyber Truck. Are there any other vehicles on sale with no mechanical link?

Following Harry's countach-prep video, I just received a couple of fire safety sticks for our cars. Seem like a good product.

Assuming the reg isn't some weird private one (don't think it is) that'd make it 87-88, and the MOT/TAX exemptions are 40 years rolling IIRC

Last I checked it's not 2027-28 yet...

Just because your 500E hasn't had an MOT for a few years doesn't mean it is yet historic and exempt

YK and I bought some at a car show, yet to be used in anger but glad to know it's there.

I have an extinguisher in the Alfa, which shows ok on the gauge, but is ancient so no idea if it would actually work if I needed it to.

His mention of "AI" looking at those lovely suspension parts did irritate me though, structural optimiser programs have produced shapes like those for a long time. They're just expensive to make fully optimised for mass, nothing AI about it AFAIK.

According to this Bugatti press release, they did use AI in the design of the rear suspension:

Maybe, although I'm more inclined to think it's just the want to make something aesthetically pleasing regardless of cost.

Bugatti's spaff about "AI" repeated by Harry I am deeply skeptical of, then again the optimiser package they used may have been subject to similar marketroid waffle.

Modern manufacturing techniques and a pretty much unlimited budget mean they can spend time making things a bit more fancy and look prettier.

Just watched the second vid of his trip in the Countach. When he's reversing the Countach in Andermatt, it doesn't look like any reversing lights come on



The bit at 13:30 when he's coming down the pass and there's a load of cars parked at the viewing point - me and a friend visited that in 2011 and we were the only cars parked there!

Yeah, they definitely weren’t working. Not required for the mot anyway, not that it seems to be a major concern

Amazes me how cars can come back from having absurd amounts of money spent on them and still have basic and obvious mechanical faults.

The steering didn’t look much fun on the hairpins either
