Coronavirus
Re: Coronavirus
So the local pub are only open for takeaway collection but have conveniently left their outdoor garden section open and it’s rammed with people eating and drinking there. It’s by the main road so only a matter of time till the police go past. It’s owned by an absolute fuck nugget too following my past encounters with her.

More tragic than stupid imo. Makes them feel better about themselves though, bless

What's the prediction for Sunday?
I'm starting to get bored of the lack of direction. It's okay to live day to day thinking it's going to be v shaped recovery. It's not going to happen.
Has anybody on here been done speeding yet? My weekend challenge. Go out and live a bit.

Where are they getting their alcohol stock from? Places with beer gardens here (which I have no desire to see open) but they couldn't anyway as the beer suppliers are all shut.Mito Man wrote: Fri May 08, 2020 6:03 pm So the local pub are only open for takeaway collection but have conveniently left their outdoor garden section open and it’s rammed with people eating and drinking there. Feck knows, they’ve removed the Facebook thread about it as “we should be supporting our local pub” and “it is on the individuals to maintain social distancing and not the businesses”
Perhaps it wouldn’t struggle as much if it weren’t so awful...

Re: Coronavirus
I really hope BoJo's announcement is as clear as the one they made in Ireland, where they actually outlined dates for each phase (subject to no spike). Probably wishful thinking though, queue a load of waffle.

My prediction is that whatever Boris says tomorrow, there’ll be a “clarification” or change made before the end of the week.

Re: Coronavirus
So garden centres in England can open from Wednesday. This means that they must change their “only travel if essential” statement as there’s nothing essential in a garden centre is there.

No. You shop in Asda and you call in the garden centre on the way home. It's not you can go to the garden centre everyday for a Latte.
Common sense.

Cafe’s in them will remain shut.
And let’s be honest most people don’t have common sense.

How can they police that?
Still seems far too soon given infection and death rates are still high.

Apparently the death rate yesterday was in the 40’s and most deaths are from prior weeks, although don’t quote me on that as I heard it off a friend.

I don’t like Asda, so I’d rather avoid it if possible...
Re: Coronavirus
Most garden centres are bigger than supermarkets so there's ample opportunity to distance from others.
It'd be a shame for all the stock to be lost otherwise.

Re: Coronavirus
The garden centres will be immediately full of old people meeting their friends round by the potted flowers and not social distancing.
