When I had a karoq (same car in drag) they had a recall to update the software so the hold disengaged when you lifted the clutch and applied throttle instead of just lifted clutch. I had a few times where you release the slightest bit of pressure on the clutch without realising and the car started to roll so the update made sense. The ford version doesn’t need throttle but the clutch has to go up higher so it’s an actual conscious movement rather than an accidental releaseGavster wrote: Fri Dec 12, 2025 2:40 pmHave manual and automatic handrake/hill hold etc on the Ateca and I absolutely love it. Im not sure Ive ever driven one, seems wrong but also the norm in modern cars amongst the very little choice of manuals.
