For Autosolos it's pretty much the opposite of what you just described ! Braking right into the turn to keep the weight over the front and make it actually go round the corner. Gentle through the middle then hard on the gas when you're straight again. Somewhat counter-intuitively, setting up the front end with a little bit of toe *out* makes a big difference with this kind of thing.
But this is different to road driving, it's almost all in 1st gear, and you're accelerating hard or braking hard almost all the time, there's no time for a breather like you get cruising down the straight on a circuit !
Sprints are different, faster, and are more like a timed lap of a circuit.
If I can get my finger out and finish the Compact I'll be doing a Targa Rally on 18th Nov. That's somewhere between an Autosolo and a real rally. A series of "tests" linked by "road stages". Should be a lot of fun.

Mrs Clio failed it's mot yesterday and the Merc is with Dave for some TLC so the Seven was pressed into action to give her a lift this morning and last night.

330's been in for the mass recall notice for the heater blower wiring. Took them only a couple of hours. Still, I borrowed this whilst it was in as it worked out cheaper than a taxi
I actually quite liked it. It didn't seem as cheap feeling as the last F30 I had so maybe they've improved a little following the facelift. Still, I wasn't fully enamoured with the quality but couldn't put my finger on why.
Love the colour though and it was brisk enough with the zf8.

The Audi is getting lots of love.
The headlights were awful so I had to go down to 600grit to give them a chance, they are cloudy on the inside too but I’m not removing the lenses, will finish polishing tonight I hope.
New piston seals and dust shields on the rear calipers, they were in reasonable condition but showed signs of a pair of stilsons at some point.
New rear Koni Dampers and H+R springs with upper and lower spring pads which should keep it at the same ride height, possibly higher. It had Quattro Sport springs on it before but the rears had snapped and the dampers were shot.
Hazard light switch had failed so £72 at Audi later for a new one and fitted that.
I’ve to fit front ARB bushes, top mounts and bearings, front Koni adjustable sport dampers (They have a twirly knob on top becoz race car) and H+R front springs too with new damper gaiters.
Hopefully once it’s all set up it should handle really nicely, it was a little numb but unless I was being a wally it never had much understeer at all and with Brembo Discs and pads all round it should stop well too. It stopped better than the ML anyway so I’m expecting even more.

Alloys refurbished, front brakes, rear brakes, Cambelt, water pump, tensioner, idler, cat, downpipe, sump strainer, some vacuum hoses, lower dog bone bushes, all 4 coils. The engine work took a while as it had been really badly bodged previously.
I think it owes me about £1500 in total now including tyres. It needs a front bumper and drivers side wing aswell too.
But, the engine runs really well, it is a great spec for the wife and I’m 99% sure it’s had a remap as it was slightly quicker than the BILs 330 Convertible (Sorry Beany) which was before I worked on it, so hopefully is a little healthier now.
I don’t know if I’m enjoying bringing a tired car back from death or just enjoy something different to drive.

Bollocks to that it was freezing! I think I'm in a minority of about one who likes the hood and prefers it to the half hood!
Mik - had it ten years next year!
Hopefully it'll get some attention too next year, gearbox is getting crunchy.
