Auction salvage would involve being previously scrapped, or written off, surely?
Unless this is some weird thing that I'm not familiar with. (that's not a bit, I'm genuinely not sure if I'm missing a trick)

Aaaaaaaah, so if, say, on an M135i you did loads of donuts and ate the crank bearings, realised it was gonna cost you £2000 to fix and you just wanted to get £6k and get shot of the fucker - so not written off from an insurance perspective, not scrapped from DVLA perspective, but still very clearly had something happen to it that made someone go "oh ho ho, fuck this noise, lets see what Copart will give us for it and just cut our losses"

Mat Armstrong's RR was never recorded as written off I believe - some insurance trickery, despite Rashford being paid out in full for it.

Finally got it out for a test drive.

Happy, definitely a lot lower but doesn’t feel overly harsh or crashy. I think the polo rear dampers are a good match.

I’m not 100% comfortable with what I had to do to get them to fit so looking at making new attachment brackets similar to the originals but to take the wider bushes.

M135i transferred DVLA-wise to Copart (as instructed)

Just need to find out out when they can pay me - at which point I assume I'll need to give the courtesy car back.

Hoping I can arrange transport of the Z4C fairly promptly after that, seeing as while I have realstically usable savings (for the first time in my life), they ain't £9k yet so I can't just buy the car, or reasonably arrange transport till I have the LARGE CASH DEPOSIT in my account. Be a bit embarrassing if I arrange transport for next friday and insurance go "Oh, we won't get the money to you till Monday" or something.

Fabia door update. New regulator panel purchased after I, ahem, dropped the last one and the mechanism unwound itself - handily returned ok to Amazon.

Tried the manual method for fitting rivnuts to reattach the door panel. Might work if you can get decent leverage on the nut you need to turn to compress them down, but M5 size (8mm) means a tiny spanner and I failed after a few goes. Also tried the method using an impact wrench but no joy there either. So now buying the tool that will hopefully do the job, and maybe the ones I need to fit to reattach bracket for my sump guard as well (though I expect further aggravation there with it being limited access).
