I'd actually much rather have that take me home tonight rather than an i5
You don't do a minicab service do you??

Where in that review - which praises the Enyaq’s ride - does it complain about lateral jiggling?GG. wrote: Wed Oct 09, 2024 9:18 pm Generative AI via Google but putting in "Enyaq ID4 suspension" spat out this:
The Skoda Enyaq and Volkswagen ID.4 are similar mechanically, but have different styles and appearances. The Enyaq's suspension is generally considered to be less stiff than the ID.4's

ETA - most reviews do complain about it though https://www.whatcar.com/skoda/enyaq/4x4/review/n22909 My reference points of 911 and Range Rover just throw things into sharp relief. Everything else feels crap - too harsh if its trying to be sporty or too soft without control if they try and avoid it. The FFRR smothers everything with very little roll and the 911 will pull >1 lateral G in the corners without feeling uncomfortable![]()
"Lateral jiggling™" is my proprietary phraseology. Whatcar had to use the much inferior:Jobbo wrote: Wed Oct 09, 2024 9:39 pmWhere in that review - which praises the Enyaq’s ride - does it complain about lateral jiggling?GG. wrote: Wed Oct 09, 2024 9:18 pm Generative AI via Google but putting in "Enyaq ID4 suspension" spat out this:

Just be thankful we're not talking about aquatic motor launchesMito Man wrote: Wed Oct 09, 2024 9:47 pm Lateral jiggling makes me think of inappropriate YouTube videos![]()
That is exactly how my RR felt. Cornered flat but pitched back & forth, and floated up & down too much.Mito Man wrote: Wed Oct 09, 2024 7:54 pm I will say a lot of newer cars feel like they are too softly sprung but have rock solid ARBs. They don’t roll much but feel like crap in the corners and rock forwards and back too much when gently accelerating/braking.
I sadly missed this, is another planned?Jobbo wrote: Thu Oct 10, 2024 7:27 am On our Oxfordshire meet, didn’t you say the 911 had rather a firm ride too?
Hunter is always good, but speak to them first and check they know / have the kit to put it into the appropriate mode.Sundayjumper wrote: Thu Oct 10, 2024 7:40 am I'll get it as best I can with string & tape measure then maybe pay to get it finalised on a Hunter. I hate paying for stuff. I might be able to justify it here.
I think you could say EV's are prone to suffer it, unless it is cleverly damped. Interestingly I saw a very transparent Hyundai article that went to some quite ridiculous lengths to explain how much work they'd had to put into the suspension to improve it on account of the compromises of electric cars.Jobbo wrote: Thu Oct 10, 2024 7:27 am Unsettled doesn’t mean laterally though. I’m genuinely not sure about your assertion that all EVs suffer, particularly when you acknowledge Teslas don’t

I had a respected place with Hunter alignment put tyres on my 2011 Defender once. They did a report and were adamant that they could get the camber and rear toe to the optimum settings, despite me questioning how they were going to do this with two solid axles... If I'd had the time to argue it would have been interesting to see what the final print out looked like after 'correction'.mik wrote: Thu Oct 10, 2024 8:51 amHunter is always good, but speak to them first and check they know / have the kit to put it into the appropriate mode.Sundayjumper wrote: Thu Oct 10, 2024 7:40 am I'll get it as best I can with string & tape measure then maybe pay to get it finalised on a Hunter. This place isn’t very handy for you- just the first explanation that google found. Clickety clack
Yes sounds good - springtime makes sense I think. I'd be up for it again - we need to get some of the Ferrari owners out too (plus Simon's new MX5 obviously!)Jobbo wrote: Thu Oct 10, 2024 12:52 pmIt was good fun so definitely - just not sure when! Maybe next spring?
Hang on - wot?Ascender wrote: Thu Oct 10, 2024 9:56 pm Today was a half five start in the 911 to pick up, well, a different 911
