ETA - most reviews do complain about it though https://www.whatcar.com/skoda/enyaq/4x4/review/n22909 My reference points of 911 and Range Rover just throw things into sharp relief. Everything else feels crap - too harsh if its trying to be sporty or too soft without control if they try and avoid it. The FFRR smothers everything with very little roll and the 911 will pull >1 lateral G in the corners without feeling uncomfortable
Where in that review - which praises the Enyaq’s ride - does it complain about lateral jiggling? 😂

Lateral jiggling makes me think of inappropriate YouTube videos
How about not having a sig at all?

"Lateral jiggling™" is my proprietary phraseology. Whatcar had to use the much inferior:

Electric cars have to carry around heavy battery packs, so they tend not to smother bumps as brilliantly as the best-riding (and lighter) petrol and diesel alternatives. The same is true of the Enyaq, and there’s a slightly unsettled quality to the ride in urban environments.

Slightly unsettled sounds better than fucking awful - they'd probably be in a bit of a Chris Harris - Ferrari situation.

Unsettled doesn’t mean laterally though. I’m genuinely not sure about your assertion that all EVs suffer, particularly when you acknowledge Teslas don’t 😄

On our Oxfordshire meet, didn’t you say the 911 had rather a firm ride too?

That is exactly how my RR felt. Cornered flat but pitched back & forth, and floated up & down too much.

Disco rear end - Disco booty ? - all back together yesterday after finally getting the correct brake discs  The tracking is miles off though. Not too surprising when I've mucked about with all the wishbones. I'll get it as best I can with string & tape measure then maybe pay to get it finalised on a Hunter. I hate paying for stuff. I might be able to justify it here.

Hunter is always good, but speak to them first and check they know / have the kit to put it into the appropriate mode.

This place isn’t very handy for you ;) - just the first explanation that google found. Clickety clack

I think you could say EV's are prone to suffer it, unless it is cleverly damped. Interestingly I saw a very transparent Hyundai article that went to some quite ridiculous lengths to explain how much work they'd had to put into the suspension to improve it on account of the compromises of electric cars.

911 is not so much a firm ride but limited rear suspension travel combined with mass over the rear that can make it feel uncomfortable over large undulations. I'd say that's an issue at the opposite end of the spectrum - and a bit more of an acceptable problem if it arises over very bumpy roads at xxx speeds!

I had a respected place with Hunter alignment put tyres on my 2011 Defender once. They did a report and were adamant that they could get the camber and rear toe to the optimum settings, despite me questioning how they were going to do this with two solid axles... If I'd had the time to argue it would have been interesting to see what the final print out looked like after 'correction'.

Yes sounds good - springtime makes sense I think. I'd be up for it again - we need to get some of the Ferrari owners out too (plus Simon's new MX5 obviously!)

Disco has an MOT. I don’t think we can claim flying colours as the ns brake light has stopped working and there’s a grinding noise from the osr when turning right. It has an MOT.

Mito has a rear wheel bearing which is gradually getting louder.

Looks like they’re about £30 for a non-shit brand.

I think that’s the first first mechanical failure on it since fixing a broken spring when my mum still owned it approx 8 years and 60,000 miles ago

Today was a half five start in the 911 to pick up, well, a different 911.
