Surely must be a general election now?

Saying that, I don't know who I'd vote for.

There has to be... but what's the betting a new Tory leader will cling on to Power like grim death. Or at least until it's 45 days from their succession so they won't be the shortest ever term PM.

I really can't see them doing well in the next election - A Labour lead Coalition of some some sort I'd say...

I hope King Charles asks whoever is next Tory leader whether they can definitely form a government.

How does that happen though?

Wouldn't it need a VoNC in the Gov't, which would mean Con MPs voting against their own Gov't (not impossible at the moment!). Unless there's another way.
I thought there might be some mad piece of legislation from hundreds of years back that could still be used for exceptional circumstances or something. Like if the PM had syphilis and had gone stark raving mad or something.

Tories won't want an election obviously. But you know, you'd hope there was some sort of democratic angle to address the current clown show.

And that's another issue. Not much of a democracy at the moment is it?

You would think there would be but I guess that might introduce its own issues if it could be used nefariously.

How does everyone feel about Sunak as next PM then?

Yeah, I'm probably just going to look at my local MPs and see who I like best rather than supporting a party.

I'd rather shower in my own vomit.

But it's probably where it's likely to go. He's the only one arrogant enough and stupid enough to likely still want the job.

Don't be daft. Apparently Johnson might yet throw his hat in the ring as well

Liz Truss' six week reign as PM also included ten days off for national mourning and two weeks off for the conference season. She worked just twelve days as PM during her reign.

Even without discounting the time she spent not actually doing the job, she is by far the shortest serving PM. The next shortest (119 days) only ended so soon because he died of tuberculosis.

Having said that, there are a couple of leaders who failed to form governments so didn't even get to take up the role of PM. Wouldn't it be good to see that happen again?

given everything that's happening at a national / party level, that's not a bad plan...
