I bet the salesman who was front of house that day must have been pleased.

Great event, run well, no overly zealous marshalls, supposed to be 3 runs but as no one crashed managed to get 4 in, could have got a 5th run in but the drift car crashed :D so that pretty killed the rest of the morning session.

Car was loved and loathed in equal measure, no fucks were given as per usual. Tbh I was pretty slow and rusty, it’s been a while since I’ve been on any type of circuit and it showed, I’m looking forward to getting out more with it now.

People didn't like it? WTF is wrong with them?!

A drift car does not sound like an appropriate vehicle for Shelsley; the track is pretty narrow and the banks just flick cars into the air

Mainly because race numbers on a non race car, some people might take themselves a little too seriously tbh :)

OMG, they're not even in a complete white circle! Cover it entirely in chocolate immediately.

ETA: were you actually number 83 yesterday?

No, I was 13.

I’d toyed with stickers/livery for a while, Martini being my first choice but has been pretty much done now, next up was a Rothmans wrap but in a patina style, fake rust, peeling numbers but then Porsche did a proper wrap and I felt it would be a bit me too. So last Monday I drew a few things on paper, mainly the bonnet fade and rear quarter and then added the door and and front wing in, sent the lot to a mate who came back with the a design which we tweaked on Tuesday, he printed it Tuesday night, sent it to me Wednesday and I fitted it on Thursday night.

83 was because the car was made in 83, I couldn’t really think of a number that had any meaning to me so went with that.

This one's got the for sale sign on it, £8500 IIRC 😁

He built it with this dad which is pretty cool. You'd clearly have to have some talent to put it together. Maybe the son is forcing him to sell it and build something else... only not hideous
