Boatshoes are nothing, I'm being bullied by my swedish chum into barefoot shoes, she swears by them.
(basically very flexible upper, and thin lower sole - yer freets, and all that)

Christ, not that barefoot, I'm in Leeds/Bradford, I don't want to be collecting syringes in my feet.

I have some extremely thin soled FIA grade racing shoes. Utterly useless because you can’t even walk from the house to the car without dying from pain on the gravel driveway

Might be worthwhile checking out this guy and seeing what his prefered driving shoe is.

No, it was just plain blue and white tablecloth with an overlapping criss cross, two line pattern.
Although it was probably easier to wipe clean.

I do still have my £55 in-the-sale Onitsuka Tiger EDR78
Been looking for some of these for a while at a decent price. Going rate seems to be £150.

I definitely got a bargain. It's worth subscribing to their newsletter (bottom of page) to receive any offers that come up.

My Speedcats arrived today. They fit fine and they’re nice and light, with very soft leather uppers.
I showed my wife and she expressed some dismay. I said they were for driving and she said I’d have to get out of the car at the other end, and was I planning to change at that point. I said they were better than boat shoes and she said they aren’t.
So don’t wear them out and expect to pull

I had some speedcats back in the day.
I didn’t really like them. I didn’t think they offered any more feel than a nicely worn in set of skate style trainers and I felt like a plonker at petrol stations or wearing them anywhere where I had to get out of the car.
Probably just a me thing, but then I don’t have particularly big or wide feet so never struggled for pedal room even in small cars.

i’m not to bothered about feel or looks, more with not dying when i try to press one pedal at a time in the Elise and end up pressing the accelerator as well as the brake!
