Yeah, I saw that, although those seem to be the exception these days, whereas 10 years ago it was the rule to near directly rip a western design.

Gorgeous pics. I remember when I first started buying Evo the 996 911 had just come in and I still remember the gushing news.

But 110,000 miles I would baulk at, suspension refreshes and careful care aside. The running reports on the 996 make you realise what a money pit these can be...

All that stuff would have been done at least once buy now just due to age. Looks cracking although I much prefer the look at the front end of the 3.6l cars.

ETA wheels are fucked and not Porsche Sport Classic 2's as described. Must be sandbagging a decent set as the tyres are 9 years old as well

Very nice. I don't even mind those headlamps now and might actually prefer them to the change .2 ones.

Not sure about the degree to which its been lowered though, makes the proportions of the car look a bit weird from some angles but that's a very minor gripe.

Any idea what that car is worth then?

The 3.4 is the less problematic engine and to me OSB the pick of the affordable 996 range.

When I was looking a few years ago then corrosion around the top of the engine bay and underneath just infront of the engine was a bit of a worry. The 996!had a lot of good motorsport style components in the suspension though so is the pick of the non special 911 range.

I know a 993 Turbo looks the nuts but a basic 996 is better than a basic 993 to me. Especially with aircooled running costs.

I don't understand why this is in an auction unless he's delulu. It's nice but it's nothing "special" and needs money spent on it out the box. Whose going to pay another £600 in buyers fee on top of that? Let alone go to Scotland to view it first.

I reckon that's a £14-15k car.

That’s not even the splitter, that’s the underside of the bumper. The splitter is completely missing. It’s a black vertical strip:


Which is rather vulnerable, to be fair.

It's a bit knackered but that's generally the type of car you get at an auction. In most cases the seller just wants to get rid of it quick because a private sale is too difficult for obvious reasons and a dealer will also offer far too little as they will pick up all the defects. Stick it in an auction and hope people get too excited and don't notice.
