That all sucks, although I don’t see how it’s any of your responsibility. At the same time mediating the grievances, if possible, is always going to make life easier than an ongoing dispute.

I don’t wish to be the burster of bubbles but usually the way it goes is you buy the land, then Mr & Mrs Toni randomly send a letter one day claiming they’ve been walking through the woods every day since 1960 and they wish to establish a public right of way.
You liaise with previous owner to find out this is bullshit and put a deposit preventing new rights of ways.

Mr & Mrs Toni get upset at this and kick up a fuss at the parish council meeting and now you have 15 disgruntled pensioners who are walking through your woods everyday.

You fence the whole perimeter to deal with this problem then they start making spurious allegations to the Police. A good one was that I pushed one over into a ditch and threw their bicycle on them.

In order to stop them making more claims and to cover your own arse you fit CCTV to the perimeter, as advised by the Police.

Next parish meeting and they’re complaining that they don’t understand why there’s fencing and CCTV. They shall report to planning enforcement.
Who say this isn’t a planning matter after a year.

I posted on threads about living in the country and someone posted a picture of fly tipping outside their farm entrance saying "yeah but you'll have to deal with this" and it's literally the precise thing I deal with in London every single week. Just different stuff being dumped here, mainly mattresses and fridge freezers or furniture, although at least the council clear it here once I've reported it.

A wise project manager once said to me “the grass might look greener, but it’s just as hard to mow”.

The frustrating thing about fly tipping is that it’s just down to shit policy, and I learned that the council don’t use their own team to collect fly tipped rubbish. They sub contract to someone else who charges a silly amount.
How much nicer would the country look if commercial vehicles could use the tip for free and I imagine the cost at the end of the day wouldn’t be much different to paying out all the sub contractors.

You say that as if there wasn't fly tipping before.
