I'm not taking it until the end of the month as Ford are having it back for an airbag recall, and my mate needs it for a couple of weeks, but it'll arrive two weeks before the Jag's MOT runs out, so that's handy

Just need to get that fixed up and on eBay.

Not cooled seats in this one, that was from the facelift (2010?) I think. This is a 2008 model year on a 57.
You settle up, I'll go get the Jag.

Picked it up last night. Good impressions so far, it's very quiet and refined inside. You can't really hear the 5 cyl engine much. Nice to have working a/c and be able to stream music from my phone again.

@tim I know it isn't aiming to be a full-on sporty model, but I believe they handle pretty well. I also understand they respond very well to a remap, but the cost probably doesn't make much sense at this point in its life... :?:

(Wheels should be 6.5J, so you can fit a 225/50/16 on there in place of the OEM 205/55/16 if you wanted to. Gearing pretty much identical, tank track or otherwise).

Can't grumble for £1400. It's on 18s Mik, don't feel the need to mess with it really. At 170k sticking another 50 bhp on it is probably not a great idea!

I wonder what colour they were aiming for on the rear bumper?!

Looks fine for the money though!

It has some decent punch for overtakes, but doesn't really want to rev much. Plugs were last done 30k miles ago so will do those, and maybe an oil/filter change just for peace of mind. I put some new UK number plates on to replace the old delaminated GB ones and that's smartened it up a bit more.

Plugged my OBDII tool in, no codes showing. Everything works, even the a/c blows cold.

It has DVD player and screens in the headrests, but I need to get some ford bluetooth headphones to use it. And then find a DVD my kids want to watch. Actually maybe I'll do that first, it'll save me buying the headphones.

When you started the thread I had a quick nose on t'net, the cheapest 2.5 I saw was £4k (I can't remember the mileage or model). £1400 for that condition is ridiculously good value :D 8-)

Looks like the kind of unassuming daily driver that will be reliable and not skip a beat for the next three years, while only costing the same as an iPhone.

I haven't driven it in a Mondeo, but back when it was current I had several C30/S40/V50/C70 as company cars with that engine. It lost the top end power when they reconfigured the inlet manifold for that platform compared with the bigger S60/V70 2.5 T5. Even when new there was no point in taking them past 5k rpm, but they do have a decent mid-range.

You're right - my ex-wife's C30 T5 sounded nice and pulled OK but there was no incentive to rev it out; it felt flat and constrained if you did. I assumed it was a different engine to the V70 one because it certainly didn't go like those.
