So the new car won’t be coming for 12+ months…
Land Rover will only let you swap into a hybrid, and that would still be 6-8 months.
This goes for any Disco Sport and most Evoque orders placed with dealers since about March this year!
The only concession from Land Rover currently is automatically refinancing your balloon payment without having to go through a finance proposal.
My dealer had 72 cars expected in Sept/Oct which are now over a year away. That’s a big hit to the bottom line, even before you consider the resale opportunity of the part exchanges.
I guess we’ll keep this one for a while…
New car
Re: New car
Wow, did they say why? I know our local dealer wasn't taking any workshop work as they were booked out with warranty work so are they needing parts that were earmarked for new cars for repairs or is it the perfect storm of blocked canal and Covid?Jimexpl wrote: Fri Aug 13, 2021 11:02 am So the new car won’t be coming for 12+ months…

Re: New car
It's all down to the chip shortage.
I'm surprised that ours isn't being built - It's the most expensive Discovery Sport model along with the plug in hybrid and you'd have thought that the hybrid requires more microchips. JLR will need to maximise the profit on every car they can make.
And the USP of a discovery sport over many comeptitors is the seven seats, which you can't have with the Hybrid.
