I was hoping it’d be a MINI. I like them.
APPROVED.

It's because you're no longer under instruction from someone else in the car. You're more likely to go crazy when you're out as a 'full' license holder. T'was the same for my wife.Rich B wrote: Fri Apr 23, 2021 6:46 pm Looks decent - great first car. What does the insurance jump to once passed? (Assuming she's not 17, so probably a little better!)

Fuck yes. My old Mini One needed to be thrashed to make any sort of progress and I suspect that the auto would have blunted that further.Jobbo wrote: Fri Apr 23, 2021 5:57 pm
Insurance for a Mini One auto would have been £254 but I think the Cooper was a better choice.

They do seem well built compared to lots of the competition. My brother in law had a few as driving school cars and did 150k miles in them before moving them on for good money.
Other than tyres, brakes and servicing he had no issues. Although one did have a cam belt/chain failure about 2 months after he sold it to his father in-law

Awesome first car, I hope she appreciates it. Awful cars though.
Re: Guess the purchase
Not awful at all Jon - why do you say that? I’ve had a few R56 Minis as courtesy cars when I had BMWs and always loved them. Great to drive, and no negative image.
