It's because you're no longer under instruction from someone else in the car. You're more likely to go crazy when you're out as a 'full' license holder. T'was the same for my wife.

Fuck yes. My old Mini One needed to be thrashed to make any sort of progress and I suspect that the auto would have blunted that further.

They do seem well built compared to lots of the competition. My brother in law had a few as driving school cars and did 150k miles in them before moving them on for good money.

Other than tyres, brakes and servicing he had no issues. Although one did have a cam belt/chain failure about 2 months after he sold it to his father in-law :lol:

Not awful at all Jon - why do you say that? I’ve had a few R56 Minis as courtesy cars when I had BMWs and always loved them. Great to drive, and no negative image.
